Tracking Pixels Basics:

Tracking pixels play a crucial role in advertisers' ability to record how viewers interact with ads. There are two main types of tracking pixels: Impression and Click.

Both types of tracking pixels are based on the same underlying technology. When a tracking pixel loads, either through JavaScript or an HTML element, the server connected to the pixel records an event. The type of event recorded depends on the type of tracking pixel. Impression tracking pixels record each time an ad is displayed to a user, while click tracking pixels record every time a user clicks on an ad.

Most tracking pixels are passed along as URLs, such as https://a2.adform.net/adfserve/?bn=44054688;1x1inv=1;srctype=3;ord=[timestamp]

To add an impression tracking pixel to an ad item, follow these steps:

  2. Click on “Add new creative” to create a new creative for your ad item.
  3. Find and click on “Additional Information” to expand the section. This is where you can add the impression tracking pixel link to your ad item.
  4. Paste the impression tracking pixel link into the “Third-party impression Pixel” field. This is where you add the link for the pixel that tracks impressions for your ad item.
  5. Click on “Upload” to finalize the changes. This will save the creative with the impression tracking pixel and make it available for use in your advertising campaign.
